A rare megaphone-less shot of the Bad Books

Been a bit slow to write about this but one of my live recordings appeared recently on the Fresh Air ‘The Inside Track Vol 3′ compilation.

Taken from the legendary (really??) bootleg ‘Songs of Love, Drink, Disaster and In-Breeding’ so far this is the only official Bad Books release.  It’s one of the, ahem, rockers in the live set and this was actually the first time it was played live (at Sneaky Pete’s in March) but it’s become a firm favourite ever since.

It’s a bootleg so it is rough around the edges (and Graeme’s vocals are fairly low in the mix) but it does capture the energy of a live Bad Books performance.

Proceeds from ‘The Inside Track Volume 3′ go to Waverley Care and it’s a great wee compilation wiht tracks from Meursault (the otherwise unreleased, I think, ‘Fib’), Randolph’s Leap, Sparrow & The Workshop, Kill The Waves and Sebastian Dangerfield amongst others. Get it here.

And here’s that live Bad Books track:

The Bad Books will be appearing at A Brighter Beat in Cupar on Sunday 11th November.
