It Only Takes One

Slightly old news perhaps but nonetheless quite interesting if like me you missed out on Spare Snare.

Their (almost) entire back catalogue has been made available for download from the usual places – Amazon, itunes, 7digital, hmv, etc (although not it seems eMusic at the moment). In addition to their LP releases also available are –

a) a download only album (Needle Drop) and E.P. (Hello Honky Tonks),

b) singles and EPs (many not available on CD), and

c) a large number of live shows.

Now the latter are supposed to be available for the price of a single. And indeed they are everywhere I checked – except on iTunes where the live shows appear at the moment to be costing £7.99 each. So don’t buy them there!

The only drawback I can see is that you won’t know what’s on the live recordings until you buy them but for 59p -79p does that really matter?

Other related releases on Chute Records such as ‘Dubreq’, ‘The Beatles, etcetera’, ‘The White Leather Club’ and ‘Hamfisted’ are also available.

I’d probably still rather buy the CDs if they are available but equally this seems like a good way to expand and plug gaps in your Spare Snare collection.

Buy Spare Snare on 7digital, HMV Digital and Amazon (59p for the live shows!!)

And there could be more to follow with a handful of master tapes being tracked down.
