Last plug for my wife’s non musical “show” on Thursday – sci-fi author Alastair Reynolds is appearing in St Andrews Library at 7.30 pm. Tickets in advance from any Fife Council Library atlthough there will probably be some left on the door. No promises, mind.

Current MPT faves Edinburgh School for the Deaf are heading to London on 23rd July to support the Jasmine Minks at the Borderline. They’ve also told me that they’re doing an LP launch for ‘New Youth Bible’ at Sneaky Pete’s in Edinburgh in mid-June – but I can’t remember when! 17th maybe but don’t stake anything on that.

The LP is likely to be accompanied by a release of an EP with new material. Some/all of which is being streamed on ‘When You Motor Away’ here. Nice. Oh, and I’m being quoted on ESftD on the front of the Bubblegum website! Their debut single ‘Orpheus Descending is still available here.

Go North has announced an extensive list of Scottish acts who will be performing in Inverness on 9th and 10th June – the list of MPT favourites includes Kid Canaveral, Mitchell Museum, SHMB, Panda Su and the Scottish Enlightenment. More info. Kid C also appear to be playing Wick on 20th August.

Cancel The Astronauts are not just playing Limbo Live at the Voodoo Rooms on 24th May with Kid Canaveral and the Lovely Eggs, but also the Poor Things single launch at Bar Bloc in Glasgow on 26th May.

Not very local, but Thurston Moore releases his new solo LP ‘Demolished Thoughts’ on 24th May. Which is very much something to look forward to since his last solo LP was better than the last couple of Sonic Youth albums. IMHO.

FInally back to gigs and an interesting bill at Henry’s Cellar Bar in Edinburgh on Sunday 15th. Vendetta Machine, the world famous Shock and Awe, Murder Burgers and Black Volvo, the latter band all teh way from the Netherlands.

Enough.
