Vic and the Sect in Dundee last March

March 2012 is going to have at least one thing in common with March 2011 – a Vic Godard & Subway Sect tour of Scotland.

Sounds inthe Suburbs will be promoting the Glasgow and Edinburgh shows whilst Something Going On will be promoting the Dundee show. Dates and venues:

Friday 23rd March – The Accies Club, Glasgow (line-up to be confirmed)

Saturday 24th March – The Voodoo Rooms, Edinburgh (Tickets here – with the Sexual Objects)

Sunday 25th March – Beat Generator Live!, Dundee (Supports – Vladimir, Edinburgh School for the Deaf and the Creeping Ivies)

More ticket information when its available.

To be honest, I’m mildly annoyed with Andy for putting on the Dundee show because I’ve been keen to get to another Sounds In The Suburbs show for ages and had heavily pencilled in the Edinburgh show. But given that he’s got Vladimir and ESFTD as supports (as well as the Creeping Ivies, whom I’ve not seen before) then I’ll forgive him.

Vic’s appearance at Dexter’s last year was certainly demanding of a repeat visit. My big hope for the show is that more folk turn up than last year since Vic certainly puts on a good show. In fact last year Vic seemed to be enjoying himself so much at Dexter’s that he didn’t want to stop.

So in terms of the Dundee gigging calendar, the 25th March show is unmissable, something which applies equally to the  Glasgow and Edinburgh shows if they’re closer to home for you.
