Martin John Henry’s ‘The Other Half of Everything’ was MPT’s favourite  LP of 2011 and Gargleblast Records will be releasing the second single from the album on 12th March.

In an era when singles seem to be increasingly little more than the download of one track, it’s pleasing to see that the AA side ‘Span/Only Colour’ will additionally be released in extremely limited 7″ as well as on a bumper CD E.P.

As well as the 2 A-sides, the CD will feature all of the ‘Other Half’ remixes including the Mogwai remix of  ‘Breathing Space’ and the Miaoux Miaoux (recently signed to Chemikal Underground) remix of first single ‘Ribbon on a Bough’.

There’s also 2 versions of ‘Span’, the Human Don’t Be Angry remix and one by James Morgan, the winner of the ‘Span’ remix competition in December. Which is only 6 – not sure what the seventh song is but given how prolific Martin has been of late, it may even be a new track.

If that wasn’t exciting enough there’s the prospect of not one but TWO single launches in Glasgow and Edinburgh. Before that though Martin plays a show at the Peacock Arts Centre in Aberdeen on Saturday 4th February 8.00 – 10.00 pm. [More info] This is to replace the November show cancelled because Martin was touring Europe with Agnes Obel. No mention of the Permanent Skelf so that suggests it’s a solo show.
