Whigs and Rakes to headline CCC2

Right, let’s do this properly.

The Cool Cat Club #2 at Beat Generator Live in Dundee on Saturday 28th July is shaping to be a cracker.

Current MPT favourites the Bad Books have been confirmed for about 10 days or so for only their second show outside Edinburgh. Frankly it’s about time they started making some noise beyond the capital and Dundee’s as good a place as any to start. Unmissable if you want to get ahead of the curve.

We have also confirmed today that the headline slot has been filled. And we’re delighted to say that Perth’s Whigs and Rakes will take that slot.

They’ve been on our radar since we saw them supporting Vladimir just before the New Year and their debut LP ‘Acclimatize’, released just in time for Christmas, is a terrific piece of work. I’m really looking forward not just to seeing them play again but also for more than the 25 minutes we saw them do that time.

As if that weren’t all exciting enough, the show will also see a rare public appearance by the fantastic Hookers for Jesus, only their second of 2012. It’s been fascinating to watch them evolve over the last couple of years and I’m curious as to what they’ll have in store for us next.

Tickets cost a measly £4 on the door. More news to follow.

In the meantime here’s a Whigs and Rakes video:
