OK, I’ve been neglecting this parish somewhat over the last few days aas I’ve been pushing on with organising A Brighter Beat in November. So, here’s some gig news, in chronological order.

‘Plough Yer Ears In’ takes place at the Plough Inn in Forfar on Friday (21st) and Saturday 22nd.  The event is headlined by Wet Nuns whilst acts familiar to MPT playing are the Creeping Ivies and Hookers for Jesus. Also on the bill are Rag ‘n’ Bone Man, Hell Is Harmony, Maxwell’s Dead, Blacklist Saints, Sparrowhawk Orkestrel, Boy Orchestra, Thorn In The Face MacGowan,  Fake and The Starry Wisdom Cult. The aftershow party will feature Certain Death (Drive By Audio).

Into next month and Thursday 25th October sees an Oxjam show at the Electric Circus in Edinburgh featuring Mat Norris and the Moon, Cancel The Astronauts and Lady North. (More info) Apologies if I’ve misled anyone on this previously, was sure it was on the 26th. But it’s not. It’s on the 25th.

Two blogger shows next – sadly both on the same night (Saturday October 27th). In Glasgow at the Flying Duck  there’s a blog mash-up featuring Scottish Fiction presents Peenko vs Aye Tunes. Headliners are the French Wives with support from Cancel The Astronauts and a Glasgow debut for the mighty Bad Books.

Meanwhile in Edinburgh the Tidal Wave of Indifference presents another four band bill at the Wee Red Bar featuring the Last Battle, Plastic Animals, Fuzzy Star and the wonderfully named the Early Morning Satellites. More details
