Two weeks tonight Andy and myself are bringing Meursault back to Dundee for the first time in two years.
It’s a show we’re immensely looking forward to on the back not just of their fabulous third LP ‘Something for Weakened’ released in the summer but also the strong positive memories of their debut Dundee show in 2010, promoted by Two Winners.
As a taster for the show here’s a live performance of ‘Flittin’, the first single from the record, taken from the LP launch at the Queen’s Hall in July, complete with 8 piece string section!
In terms of number of performers at least you can’t look forward to quite such expansive magnificence in a fortnight as the band will be performing as a lean 5 piece. But you can certainly expect the same level of intensity and, with a lengthy European tour recently completed, also songs from across the Meursault back catalogue.
Look out for an interview with Neil on the blog next weekend ahead of the show.
And, as always, we’re not just about putting on a top headliner. There’s two really strong local acts performing in support.
Opening the show will be fledgling act The Won Over, who have only a handful of dates to their name so far. But their demos suggest you can expect an equally intense performance.
And of course Man Without Machines, an act we’ve put on several times before, can be relied on to deliver as well. With a debut LP in the can and likely to come out early in the New Year, MWM will be looking to build on the impetus created by their tremendous debut single ‘Something Happening Here’.
Doors for the show are at 7:30 pm and, with an early finish, make sure you’re there early as The Won Over will be on stage at around 7:45 pm. Tickets will be £8 on the door.
