2014 has been a busy year for Scott Longmuir. Not only did he organise crowd funding for (and release) the Last Battle’s excellent second LP ‘Lay Your Burden Down‘ but he also got round to releasing a solo album under the Beard of Truth banner.

Somehow he still found time to look back on the last 21 months for MPT:

Your Own Music

Your own musical highlight of the year?

Has to be raising money via indiegogo to put out our second album. I was quite cynical about crowdfunding but it changed my outlook and the response blew me away.

Favourite performance of the year?

Our album launch at The Liquid Rooms. An incredible night. Such a great turnout and a wild after party!

What’s the one thing that went wrong in 2014 you’d like to fix?

We didn’t get round to playing in Dundee. In all my time of playing in bands, I’ve never once played there.

What you gonna be doing next year?

Start rehearsing new stuff with the aim to make another album. Most of the last album was made when the band was in quite a transitional period with original members leaving and new ones coming in, so it’d be nice to write, rehearse and record a new one together as a band, and not take nearly two years to do it! Ha!
