Dundee’s Vladimir have enjoyed a good year which has seen them accelerate their upwards movement. After the epic two parter with Ross a few months back, Peter and new bass player James faced up to the MPT Inquisition.
Your Own Music
Your own musical highlight of the year?
P: Supporting The Libertines at Rock City in Nottingham.
J: Being asked to play with The Libertines, at Rock City, Nottingham; was certainly the highlight of my year. Although it was very last minute request for the band (0300 on a Monday morning!), it was a really great experience to play alongside a band who’ve really influenced me along the years.
Favourite performance of the year?
J: I would say my favourite performance was playing at the Beat Generator Live in November. We’d been away playing a lot venues around Scotland and the rest of the UK most of the year, a lot of new fans at different cities is great, but coming home to play to a lot of local faces, with some sweet support acts was a highpoint and really helped push the boundaries of the set.
P: Probably the gig we played supporting The Fall in Brixton.
What’s the one thing that went wrong in 2015 you’d like to fix?
P: Need to update my SatNav.
J: My bass amp blew up the night before our session at the John Peel Centre; I’d like to have enough money to get that fixed. Or buy an even bigger one.
What you gonna be doing next year?
P: Releasing a few things and hopefully playing more gigs and getting over to Europe.
J: We’re in the process of working on some new demo tracks of new material in the studio right now; I’m pretty excited to bring in the New Year with some of those releases. On the gig front we’ve got some things booked up around the early months of the year, but I think it’s safe to say we’re going to be quite busy around the summer months this year.
