stoorvscathodeDelighted that two of my current favourite Scottish band are getting together for a special gig in Edinburgh on Saturday 26th March.

Both STOOR’s self titled debut and the Cathode Ray’s ‘Infinite Variety’ of course featured highly in not just my end of year list but also in Andy’s. The two records then went on to Top 20 finishes in the BAMS 2015 poll of bloggers and music sites.

Despite critical acclaim STOOR have struggled to get any gigs outside of Dundee (Manchester excepted – a second date in that city on 28th May is in the process of being finalised) and so went and booked a show in Edinburgh themselves.

The Cathode Ray have been brought in as co-headliners to add a local attraction to the bill and it’s certain to be a great night.

The venue, Basic Mountain, is used for Festival shows but rarely for music events. It’s a small venue with only 60 tickets available so I’d suggest that you snag one here as soon as you can.

The Facebook event for the show is here.

All going to plan there may well be a return fixture in Dundee in the autumn. Fingers crossed!
