The Filthy Tongues coming to Dundee

filthytonguesMyself and Andy are delighted to be bringing the Filthy Tongues to Beat Generator Live, Dundee in 3 weeks (15th April) for a joint Cool Cat Club/MPT presentation.

The band, of course, consist of Martin Metcalfe, Fin Wilson and Derek Kelly who have played together from Good Mr Mackenzie through Angelfish and Isa & The Filthy Tongues.

It seems odd to describe it as such but new album ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ is their debut and it has been garnering praise from all sides in recent weeks.

Here’s a selection of the reviews:

‘More than any record I’ve yet heard Jacob’s Ladder sings my city to life.’  is this music?

‘A vivid and visceral exploration of Edinburgh’s underbelly that recalls Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds at their most intense.’  Louder Than War

“As thought-provoking as it is challenging, ‘Jacob’s Ladder’ is first-rate, capturing Edinburgh in its magnificence, but also more importantly the darkness that surges beneath its surface”Pennyblack Music
