Make A Run For It – 2015 Album of the Year Revisited

Not much time for blogging at the moment, so let’s make this a good song at least.

I spent the tail end of 2015 agonising over my choice for album of the year. It was a toss-up between Low ‘Ones and Sixes’ and the Chills’ ‘Silver Bullets’ and, in the end, I plumped for the more recent Chills album. Just.

But whilst its charms have slightly waned over the last couple of years (but only ever so slightly), the Low album sounds better than ever today. So if I could, I would reverse those standings.

Within ‘Ones and Sixes’ were several contenders for song of the year. No less a person than Aidan Moffat reckoned that ‘Lies’ had it but, if I’d felt inclined to argue, I’d have gone for this one:
