Live at the MPLR- Martin John Henry

We spent a very enjoyable afternoon in the company of Martin John Henry and some friends in the comfort of our own living room.

Martin played two sets for us – the first mainly focussing on solo material and the second on De Rosa material. With a handful of new songs and a Will Oldham cover thrown in alongside old favourites it was fantastic to hear the songs in such intimate setting. There are some videos from the show so I’ll maybe be able to share some of these later in the week.

Graeme Anderson from Book Group was supposed to be supporting but he was struck down by one of those nasty viruses going round at the moment so, sensibly, he stayed home in his bed. Get well soon, Graeme!

A good day was completed with the news that I’d finally won one of the auctions for Martin’s ‘One-Offs’ project – so I’m looking forward to hearing that in due course.
