Song of the Week (2) – Lazy Day

Lost Map signings Lazy Day have just released their debut L.P, ‘Ribbons’.

Lazy Day first came to my attention as a result of the excellent joint 7” single with Tuff Love for Record Store Day in 2015. Subsequently the band have released two singles – ‘Disappear’ and ‘With My Mind’ (also on the new E.P.) – and ‘Ribbons’ came out on Lost Map last Friday.

Available on 10” (with download code), the E.P. was preceded by a single ‘Hiccup’ and here’s the video for the song:

I’ve not managed to catch the band live yet (although they did play the Pictish Trail L.P. launch extravaganza last year in Leith) but their first U.K. tour is imminent and even comes to Dundee next week.

The tour actually kicks off today (18th September) in Guildford and reaches Scotland next week. There are three shows – in Glasgow (The Hug & Pint – Tuesday 26th), Edinburgh (Leith Depot – Wednesday 27th) and Dundee (Conroy’s Basement – Thursday 28th). The tour concludes in Sheffield on 30th September.

‘Ribbons’ is available from Lost Map.
