Song of the Week #28 (2018) – Wussy

This week’s Song of the Week comes from the new split single between Wussy and the Paranoid Style released in the States recently on Bar None Records.

I’ve featured the Style on here more than once in the past, so today I’m going to feature Wussy instead.

Still a relatively new band to me (although they’ve been on the go for a fair while now) it was their last but one LP, the excellent ‘Forever Sounds’, that alerted me to Wussy through the single ‘Dropping Houses’. This year’s follow-up, ‘What Heaven Is Like’ is just as good.

Having enjoyed both albums I was massively pissed off to miss their date at the CCA in Glasgow in June – it was just one of those things that slipped under the radar.

Anyhow the single is well worth hearing for both sides. You can hear the Wussy track below whilst the Paranoid Style track ‘Absolute Cadavers’ is something of a departure, incorporating both 80s synths and pedal steel into their high energy rock’n’roll.
