I confess that Sharon Van Etten had kind of passed me by until she turned up both in an episode of Twin Peaks: The Return and on Lee Ranaldo’s 2016 album ‘Electric Trim’.
With the release of the new album ‘Remind Me Tomorrow’ at the start of the year I made a connection initially through Spotify and it was one of the first new albums I bought this year.
I’m not sure that the synth heavy sound of the album is representative of her work to date (in fact I’m pretty certain it’s not!) but it’s an enjoyable album nevertheless. Here’s the stand-out track (apologies for the ad)
Sharon plays St Luke’s in Glasgow on 24th March but any notions of going seem snookered by the fact that the show is sold out.
